What to bring

Here’s your checklist:

This is absolutely necessary: BRING A SLEEPING BAG OR SHEET & BLANKETS!

  • The single cots in the cabins have mattresses (yes, they can be pushed together if there’s someone you want to sleep next to) BUT NO BEDDING IS PROVIDED – PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING SLEEPING NEEDS!! Such as…
    • Sleeping bag or sheets & blankets: if you’re travelling from afar and don’t want to lug your gear, you can consider renting a sleeping bag from REI (translation for the Canucks: REI is the American MEC) in Berkeley. Their website sucks – best to call them: 510-527-4140. For members, the cost is $15 first night and $5 for subsequent nights. For non-members, it’s $25/$10. We can probably figure out how to finagle a membership rate for you, if need be.
    • Pillow
    • Extra padding: if you’re interested in a little more comfort, you may want to bring a sleeping pad/thermarest/inflatable mattress.

The rest of this stuff is a good idea…

  • A towel – if you enjoy bathing or swimming
  • Curtains – if you have some desire for privacy in your cabin, then bring material to cover the windows e.g. extra sheet or sarongs. We’ll provide the thumbtacks.
  • Headlamp/flashlight – it will be a full moon on the Saturday night, so it might be bright enough without it, but probably a good idea to pack it anyway
  • Battery-powered lantern for cabins – did we mention that there’s no electricity in the cabins?
  • Hard liquor – bring your own tequilavodkaabsintheschnappswhiskeyetc. Feel free to invent a signature drink and offer it to others to, if you’re so inclined. Prize for the best drink.
  • We’ll have plenty of beer and some wine to drink with dinner, but If wine is your preferred drink and you plan on really knockin’ it back, you might want to bring some more up yourself… and conveniently, most of you will be passing through amazing wine country on the drive up
  • Musical Instruments for campfire singalongs
  • Earplugs
  • Sensible shoes for walking on uneven terrain
  • A cup or mug if you like beverages in serving sizes other than 8oz
  • Camping chairs this place has lots of benches but not so many chairs with backs, if you like to lounge around the fire
  • Warm layers
  • Yoga mat, if you’re inclined towards such stretchy things
  • COSTUMES! There are no specific themes, just general fabulousness. Remember that there’s a squaredance on Friday night.
  • Did we mention to remember to bring bedding, for sure?
