As some of the people who we love most in this world, we’re asking you to join us for 4 days of merry-making, mischief, community-building, and ritual in gorgeous Mendocino, CA.
We’ve rented a camp surrounded by redwoods. We’ve invited people from all parts of our lives to come together in one sacred community for a weekend. Each one of you has shared beautiful moments with each of us. We hope you will find time throughout the weekend to share food, skills, wisdom and laughter with each other. We both participate in diverse communities with people whom we love fiercely. Frankly, we’re a bit scared to see you all together. You lovely people terrify us.
We know that you all have busy lives, and still we want to encourage you to join us for the whole weekend, from Thursday evening September 27 through Sunday, September 30 mid-day. You won’t regret it!

Here are the things you need to know to survive a weekend of T&A community frolic in the woods:
Accommodations
Mendocino Woodlands State Park, our site for the celebration, is a beautiful camp perched in a redwood forest. Accommodations are provided in cabins on site.
** Bedding is NOT provided. YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN BEDDING.** If you don’t, you’ll have to ask to share with someone who did (a built-in pick up line. Don’t say we never helped you out). More about the accommodations.
What you need to bring
Here’s a handy checklist of things that you should be sure to bring that you might not otherwise think of – including critical items, such as your bedding (that’s not a joke). Check out suggestions for what to wear.
Food & Booze
We’re providing all meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday brunch. There will be plenty of beer, and wine with dinner. If whiskey, margaritas, 4 bottles of wine/night, or Sex on the Beach is your thing, then BYOB. If you’re able to contribute to help cover the costs of food & accommodation for the weekend, we’d greatly appreciate it!
Children & Childcare
Bring your little ones! There will be child-friendly activities during the day, and we’re working on childcare so that you parents can still join the parties at night. More soon…
Getting There & Away
The town of Mendocino is about 3½ hours from the San Francisco Bay Area in beautiful northern California. The actual site is another 9 miles from the highway down a road that’s partly paved, partly not. See directions. The nearest major airports are in San Francisco and Oakland. Car rentals are available from both locations (we generally find Enterprise to be the cheapest). We’re researching other rideshare & carpooling options. Check back for details…
Communication
Welcome to a weekend offline, communing with fellow humans in person! There’s no internet on site, and cell phones don’t work at the camp. There’s spotty reception in the town of Mendocino and on the rural roads driving to the area.
Pets
Sorry, no pets are allowed at the site (bummer!). Find a nice pooch hotel or doggie sitter.
Local Adventures
On the drive to Mendocino from San Francisco, you’ll travel through beautiful Northern California oak woodlands, vineyards, and a gorgeous redwood forest before arriving at the magnificent rugged Pacific Ocean coastline. Consider leaving extra time before or after the weekend to go wine tasting, camping, beer tasting, picnicking hiking or soaking in hot springs. Read more about adventure ideas.
In Case of Emergency
It’s very difficult to contact people at the camp, but if it’s absolutely urgent, you can call Camp #1 (our camp) at 707-937-9962 or 707-937-4023. Let it ring—these are outside phones and it may take awhile for someone to notice it’s ringing and get to it. You might be able to leave a message, but don’t count on it. You may also be able to reach camp staff at the general office number: 707-937-5755. Please note that these numbers are for emergencies only. Please don’t use them to ask us if we need you to do a beer run on the drive up. OK wait, that might be considered an emergency…
